Built for the Admiralty in 1944 by J Bolson & Sons, Poole, Dorset as MFV 740. She served with the Royal Navy in Belgium up until the end of September 1945, then patrolled off Lowestoft till the end of that year. She was then transferred to Rosyth and operated from HMS Queensferry, servicing the reserve fleet. She then transferred to the Clyde in 1950.
